exclusively prevents electrolysis corrosion

The SeaBis Electrolysis Corrosion Prevention System incorporates Quality Assurance to ISO9001 series and applies to ALL vessels with 1 engine and 1 battery bank. Follow the product list for systems specifically available for all boats with more than a single engine and more than one battery bank. The system can be installed on all boats and vessels no matter how many engines and battery banks, whether the boat is isolated or non isolated. If wanting to battery combine or isolate your vessel the team at Seabis can also assist you. See ask an engineer and pose your question.

It doesn't really matter what the size, construction or use of the vessel is, when overcoming marine corrosion the installation of the SeaBis System will achieve this. On all boats and vessels The SeaBis stray current detector, will detect and indicate the severity of stray current causing electrolysis in all wet metal. It will do this on land, however the final check must be on water and with every electrical equipment fully operational. With trailer vessels, the first noticeable electrolysis is at the engine or the engine repair shop reporting perforations or etching in the engine internals.

In jet boats, the very fast flow of water through the pump propulsion accentuates the electrolysis in that area.In moored vessels ie bass boats, Houseboats and Cruising sailboats, the bilge pump runs too often and the hull gets damaged. In vessels where the hull is of a different material to the cabin, natural electrolysis at the rubbing strip, where those two parts are joined, is dramatically accelerated. this appears as bubbles in the paint work. When the paint work is repaired, reported as pitting (under the paint-electrolysis corrosion causes particles of metal to deplete, causing the paint to lift.

In ships the wet area is much larger so stray current is dispersed over a large area. It is intensified at the propeller as stray current is attracted to faster flowing water. Often the indicator is that the propeller falls off. Quite literally, very common and very expensive to repair.
